Keith Tippett is composing a new piece for the band to be entitled
"Absolutely Specifically for You". The premiere will be on Monday 25th June as part of the Glasgow International Jazz Festival. More news as we have it!

The group will be taking this new music round Scotland in the Autumn, including a gig in the Town Hall, Lerwick. Watch this space...

Coming soon: One Bloke - new CD on Textile Records featuring Lol Coxhill, Daniel Padden and Bill Wells.This is a celebration of the work of Steve Lacy, one of the 20th Century's Big four exponents of the soprano saxophone: Bechet, Lacy, Parker and Coxhill; each one more enigmatic than the rest.

 

Raymond has a number of new CDs and projects on the go including a forthcoming duo CD on Cleanfeed with Günter Baby Sommer called Delphinius & Lyra and Aporias - a quintet CD recorded in 2004 with Tatsuya Nakatani, Peter Nicholson, Nick Fells and Neil Davidson out now on Creative Sources.

Burt MacDonald played the Ultimate Chill festival in Dundee with two of the pioneers of European jazz and improvised music. Out now: The Great Shark Hunt on FMR featuring Bill Wells - keyboard, Daniel Padden - clarinet, voice and percussion and once again the great Lol Coxhill playing bent sopranino.

November 2005

George and Raymond play in Milan with Walter Prati.

 

 

Autumn 2005

Recently Lol Coxhill and Sushil K. Dade played with the band in our Hotel Dilettante project. This culminated in a Paris gig and a new CD on the Textile label.

Summer 2005

Recording and concerts on Mull with Keith Tippett. The band were artists in residence at the An Tobar art centre on the Isle of Mull for a week in July. This lead to the release of Day for a Reason on the centre's own label.

2004


Keith Tippett played with us in December '04 and contributed apposite piano to A Day for a Reason, our set of new songs and pieces from the Isle Of Mull. Information about ordering CDs can be found through the recordings page, along with mp3s.
